Questions to Watch Out for When Interviewing

Getting your invite to an interview is very exciting. You put in several hours of work applying to different organizations. Your time and effort are close to paying off. Now is the time to prepare for your interview.

You need to practice your interviewing skills and do some mock interviews. Below I share some questions to assist you:

  1. Why did you apply to our organization?
  2. How has your education and experience prepared you for the position you applied for?
  3. What do you know about our organization?
  4. Tell us about yourself.
  5. What would your current supervisor say about you?
  6. What do you know about the water industry? Why are you interested in it?
  7. How do you handle constructive criticism? Share an example when you received some feedback.
  8. What have you been most proud of?
  9. What are your short-, mid-, and long-term career goals?
  10. Is there anything else you would like to add?

These questions are primarily entry level questions. As you continue in your career. You will get more technical questions. However, these questions may be sprinkled throughout different phases in interviews. You should always look up more questions. It is better to be over prepared than under.
