Common Mistakes After Being Hired

Congratulations! You have landed your first job with your new organization. You should feel proud and ready to celebrate. You should, however, avoid some pitfalls I witness after I extend offer letters to new hires. Let us look at those pitfalls:

  • This is a time to celebrate, but you should not be upgrading your new vehicle because you are going to make more. This will certainly put you behind on your finances and will last a while.
  • You should not be looking to take a lavish vacation you pay for on credit. It is great to want to go on a trip but try something more modest.
  • Please also do not look to upgrade your living situation. I know it is tempting to move up in the world. That decision should not be made because you make more money. You need to evaluate that decision before pulling the trigger.

These are some of the common mistakes I witness people making. Please know that I made these mistakes too. I am trying to help you from getting yourself into debt. You could absolutely do all these things. Just take your time to save up to do them. There is no need to try to impress anyone. Focus on yourself and your family. Everything else will come in time.
