I wish I knew more about the career options out there when I was young. I wish I paid more attention when people spoke about their jobs.
There are two roles I would have pursued if I knew about them earlier on in my life.
Production Operator
Production Operators are always in demand. They are incredibly important in meeting the demand of customers. This role requires a lot of understanding of the system. Learn why this role is a great career:
- The role pays incredibly well. A lead in this role could make $115,000 a year.
- The role does not need higher education.
- The role is not backbreaking. The Production Operator spends a great time monitoring everything.
- The role has the potential to make more. There is overtime available.
- The benefits are awesome. Benefits probably add an extra $30,000 to your take home.
- The position is pretty recession proof. Water is needed. There were no layoffs during the pandemic.
Treatment Operator
Treatment Operators are very niche. These roles do not come up all the time but have incredible demand. The role needs to not only know the system but deal with chemicals. This role is one step up from Production Operator. Let me give you the reasons this role is for you:
- A lead in this role is making about $120,000 a year. That is good money.
- This role also does not need higher education.
- The role spends a great time in one location making rounds around a plant.
- The role has overtime that could help generate more money.
- The benefits are incredible too. Those benefits help a person make $30,000 more in total take home.
- The position is recession proof. Water is vital. The role had no layoffs during the great recession.
These two roles are incredible and keep people from getting into debt. I wish I knew about them before pursuing my degree. I left school with about $10,000 in debt, and I am lucky in terms of debt.
You should consider these careers. You will not regret it.
