Important Things to Know About Water

Getting started in the water industry is not very difficult. There are usually always roles that are entry level. The big thing to remember is that you need to have a high school diploma or GED to get the required certifications. You will not be able to get your foot in the door without your high school diploma or GED.

The second thing is getting your foot in the door is very important. I know people are sometimes tempted in shooting for more. That is great and if that is how you want to go about your career than by all means. Just remember, the experience and education part will be very important as you continue. The faster you can get a jump on education and experience the faster you may be able to grow.

Now let me tell you a story about my career and how it started. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona eager to start my career in human resources. I started applying about two to three months prior to my graduation. I thought I was going to land something big and was looking forward to the money I would make.

Fast forward to my graduation date and I had been invited to interview for only two companies. They both rejected me. I felt defeated. My girlfriend and now wife stumbles upon a part-time human resources position about 30 miles from my house. The pay was literally minimum wage.

I could have been prideful and kept looking and taken my chances. I did the opposite though. I applied, got an interview, went back for a second, and ultimately was offered the job. I was there for a year working part time and driving 60 miles round trip. Ten years later and I never would have imagined where I am now. I now make over $100,000 and have some of the most incredible benefits ever.

You are in control of your destiny. You will make decisions that better you and will face difficult options. During all that time keep your head up high and don’t quit. Trust me, the going will get tough. You just need to stick with it.
